The SONAR new music ensemble continues to bust through boundaries with a 2015-2016 season inspired by the connections between literature and music. Inspired by Stephen Hawking's "A Brief History of Time", T. S. Eliot's "Four Quartets" and Italo Calvino's "Invisible Cities," this season's programs include works by contemporary mavericks, young and old, creating the musical tapestries that bring the words to our stage. Composers include Peter Ablinger, Bruno Mantovani, Harrison Birtwistle, Ryan Chase, Anna Clyne, Daniel Wohl, Matthias Pintscher, Chris Cerrone, Andy Akiho, premieres by RADARlab prizewinners Nicholas Bentz and James Chu, as well as a set of "Baltimore Portraits" by RADARlab alumni who call our city home.
